So spells don't show the moves to attack you message or blind is really messed up??

The attack spell engage message has been broken for a very long time. Partway through this push it was changed, still to one that megamud doesn't respond to, but it is one that gives the player more information. I went back through the notes to try and find where the change was made.

Almost four months ago.

There was a huge amount of discussion at this time about the issue (over gossip for days, as well as several forum posts), the end result of which was that we just need to modify our hangup messages until it is changed.

It was my fault. 

Someone reported a bug and I did not research it.
